Cooking With Colour / Natural Dye Class
Delve into the world of natural dyes in this beautiful session set up to stimulate the senses.
Using a variety of seasonal plants and bio waste you will learn how to mordant, record and extract dye colour.
We will not be printing in this class, this session is all about focusing and building a collection of colour samples that you can take home.
Dye colour can extracted from plants, insects, and other natural sources found in our local environment.
Here in the studio we're interested in researching how we can reduce our reliance on synthetic dyes, and explore the potential of natural dyes for production in a sustainable way. We invite you to be apart of this and experience first hand the joys of dying your own fabrics as was common practice many years ago.
All materials will be provided, alongside some delicious snacks from our local bakery.
